Give mothers a well-deserved break from the stove on Mothering Sunday this March 22 at Tamarind, the opulent and award-winning Indian restaurant in Mayfair. This year, executive chef Alfred Prasad has created two creative and mouth watering three course menus (one of which is fully vegetarian) especially for the day. And as an extra treat for the sons and daughters footing the bill, the £35 a head menus are on special offer so two guests can dine for the price of one.
The two wonderful menus include delicious dishes, both Tamarind classics and new creations, designed to give mother the kind of gourmet treat she deserves. These include coriander-marinated swordfish steak with lime leaf and green chilli, roasted Welsh lamb cutlets with pan gravy and spices, and a dark chocolate mousse with cinnamon and orange. The generous 3-course menus come with an assortment of traditional side orders including slow-cooked black lentils, braised rice, and freshly made naan bread.
Alfred Prasad says, ‘We always like to make sure that mothers get to really relax and enjoy themselves each Mothering Sunday in the restaurant. I learned a lot about cooking from my own mother and have always enjoyed learning more about family recipes just as many chefs of my generation and before always have done. The special offer this Mother’s Day is our way of saying thank you!”
