Angela Malik, a regular panellist on Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet, has opened the doors to her new Ealing venture Modern Asian Deli.
Serving up an array of Brit-Asian salads, curries, pastries and desserts there’s even a’Lassi Bar’ – a selection of Indian-inspired smoothies and shakes. There is also plenty of gluten and dairy free options and diners can eat in or choose to take away their food.
Breakfasts range from Porridge with Ealing Honey to Hot Crispy Bacon Sandwich with a choice of Angela Malik chutney. Lassis will include The Wake-up (Almond milk, Raspberry & Coconut) or the Protein Packed (Banana, Toasted Oats and Pistachios). Coffees (Angela’s signature Indian variety) and teas will also be on the menu.
Lunches are where Angela’s philosophy of the Five Tastes (Sweet, Salty, Sour, Bitter and Umami) come into their own. Customers can choose one portion of The Good Stuff, which is a protein based dish such as Sticky Pork or a Rajma Burger (v) and then add a side of any one of the salads, such as Alu Gobi or Courgette with Thai Basil & Hazelnut.
Sandwiches include Chicken Tikka, chilli tomato mayo, jalapenos, with house slaw or her Marinated Paneer with roast peppers and house slaw.
Diners are also able to choose from Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Sweet & Tangy Butternut Squash and Pork Vindaloo with Green Chilli and Garlic curries – plus many more. Also available are famous Masala Sausage Rolls along with Tamarind Chutney, Garam Masala Popcorn, and Scotch Eggs.
