Spanish restaurant, aqua nueva, is presenting its inaugural’Aqua Nueva Movie Menus’ event this September 27th.

mcith_aqua.jpgThe 1992 comedy/drama Jamón Jamón will be screened in one of the restaurant’s private dining rooms, accompanied by an eight-course menu designed by Head Chef Yahir Gonzalez.

The menu encapsulates certain scenes from the film, with a view to surprise and delight diners throughout the evening.

Upon arrival, guests enjoy a Spanish Sangria before the lights are dimmed and the film begins.

Each dish on Gonzalez’s eight-course menu will showcase the best in Spanish cooking, and will be served to guests at specific points during the film to encapsulate what is being displayed on screen.

From DIY tacos to short rib of beef, with boozy amuse-bouches to wash it all down, guests will be served a generous selection of plates with surprises along the way.

Jamón Jamón is a Spanish drama directed by Bigas Luna and starring Javier Bardem, Jordi Mollá and Penélope Cruz in her debut film. The story follows the fiery and complex relationship between Silvia (Cruz), Conchita (Stefania Sandrelli), José Luis (Jordi Mollá) and Raul (Bardem), while exploring wider themes of class, sex and food.

At aqua nueva, guests will eat their way through the deepest, darkest regions of rural Spain, as the flavours and smells depict the surrealist action on screen.

Food is a leading reference point during Jamón Jamón, from Goya-esque fight scenes to potato omelettes, garlic, and ham; a fitting first film in this series of screen eats.

The Jamón Jamón menu will be priced at £70pp. Tickets will include a welcome drink and wine pairing. Tickets can be purchased at billetto.co.uk – Aqua Nueva, 5th Floor, 240 Regent Street, London, (Entrance at 30 Argyll Street, W1F 7EB, opposite The London Palladium)
