Sam’s Brasserie is to host a dinner with guest chef, Tristan Welch of Launceston Place and Mark Neil of Morton Estate Winery on Monday 4 July 2011 at 7.30pm for 8pm, £60.00 per person including wine

On Monday 4th July Tristan Welch of Launceston Place will take over the kitchen at Sam’s Brasserie (Barley Mow Centre, 11 Barley Mow Passage, Chiswick W4 4PH) for one night only.

Tristan’s culinary career began in London working as a commis chef. He then travelled to Paris and Scotland where he worked with some amazing chefs in great restaurants and earned prestigious awards; all the while refining his skills and nourishing his love of cooking. His first Head Chef position was at two Michelin-starred Petrus and since 2008 has been Chef Patron at the stalwart of London restaurants, Launceston Place.

During the evening at Sam’s, guests will be offered a glass of sparkling wine on arrival followed by a four course dinner with Morton Estate wines to match supplied by The Vintner www.thevintner.com

Started by Tom Gilbey, The Vintner is a new wine merchant intent on supplying fabulous wines which cost no less than £5 and no more than £25. With only 100 wines on sale this is an easily negotiable list, meaning buying wine from The Vintner is as easy as drinking it. One of the Vintner’s best selling producer’s is Morton Estate who have made huge leaps in the last few years to produce top flight Sauvignon, Pinot and Sparkling from the revered Marlborough region in New Zealand. Mark Neil of Morton Estate will be on hand to explain and help guests understand the food and wine pairings. After dinner, Tristan will be available for guests to ask questions and to chat to.

Currently in its 5th year of business, Sam’s Brasserie is a much loved local favourite in West London and is the brainchild of Sam Harrison. The menus at Sam’s feature everything from light salads to serious roasts, and therefore appeal to everyone from local office workers to parents with children. The emphasis is on affordability and flexibility – there is no minimum spend, and people are encouraged to visit Sam’s Brasserie for everything from breakfast or a light snack and coffee, to drinks with friends or a full three course meal with wines.
