Hutong, the award-winning restaurant situated on Level 33 of The Shard, is celebrating Chinese New Year on Saturday 25th January with a limited-edition four course Northern Chinese menu.
The menu will highlight the very best of Hutong’s Chinese cuisine, drawing on historical dishes as well as innovative creations.
Following Chinese tradition, guests dining will experience exciting entertainment withtheir meal. Hutong is the perfect place to celebrate the Chinese holiday while watching the lion dancer parade through the restaurant to ward off’nian’ or evil spirits and bring good fortune to 2020.
There will also be a calligrapher present, creating personal mementos to take away.
Decorative red lanterns will adorn the restaurant to symbolise a new start and bring good luck for the year to come. In addition, each table will receive a red pocket, including a surprise for guests, and one lucky table will receive a fully complimentary meal on the night.
Guests can sit back and enjoy the best views of London’s skyline while embracing the Chinese New Year Menu and famous Chinese customs.
The bespoke Chinese New Year dinner will offer guests a four-course tasting menu,with classics including Lobster with Ginger and Green Onion Bao as well as Wasabi Okra and Tiger Prawns with Spiced Salt and Black Pepper. The Hong-
Hong Huo-Hou (Sichuan style Xiang-la beef ribs) are perfectly accompanied by Wok Tossed Pea Shoots and Chef’s Picked Vegetable Fried Rice.
To round off the celebrations, for dessert, guests will be treated with a Chocolate Tart with Mandarin Sorbet.
