Samarkand, the first Uzbek destination restaurant in London, has announced a schedule of free cocktail masterclasses launching this week.

Called #TillTheLastDrop, the series has been devised by bar and restaurant manager at the Silk Road inspired venue, Fabio Immovilli.

Immerse yourself in exotic flavour combinations amidst glamorous surroundings while you discover the provenance behind some of the world’s most classic cocktails alongside contemporary interpretations. Open to cocktail lovers, industry experts and journalists, each free event will be joint hosted by an exciting drinks brand currently leading the way in drink innovation.

At every tasting, you’ll learn all the trade secrets from the professionals.

The #TillTheLastDrop series kicks off this Wednesday with an evening hosted by George Clooney’s Casamigos Tequila brand ambassador and renowned mixologist Sam Plummer.

As well as the masterclass, guests will explore the history of tequila and mescal whilst enjoying four distant margarita expressions (£6.50 each) designed by Fabio and his team.

The #TillTheLastDrop masterclass series continues on: Tuesday 28th February, 2pm-4pm (for industry staff) and 7pm – 9pm (open to all)

Fat Tuesday – Vodka Masterclass with Vestal’s William Borrell

Also known as Shrove Day or Mardi Gras Day, Fat Tuesday is a traditional day of indulgence ahead of Lent. Samarkand invite you to join them for an evening of libatious hedonism and to discover new vodkas hitting the UK this year.

The Vestal Vodka masterclass will be hosted by founder and owner William Borrell who will open the evening with the history of vodka and the brand. A Vestal sharpener will get taste buds flowing, followed by a look at the new premium vodka range. Samarkand have designed a dedicated Vestal Vodka menu for the evening for only £6.50 per cocktail.

For that little something extra on Fat Tuesday, Samarkand’s kitchen will be treating guests to servings of the on-trend’paczki’ (polish donuts) that have foodies queuing around the block from bakeries in the States.

For those who would like to extend their stay after the class, guests can continue their gastronomic journey in the restaurant or sample the new signature cocktails in the stunning Silk Road bar.
