Eat Momo, the canteen specialising in handmade Nepali dumplings has opened the Himāl Hatch – a little hole in the wall inspired by founders Dipa and Trishna Chamling’s roots in Nepal.
Meaning ‘snowy mountain’, the Himāl Hatch will serve warming bowls of Nepali soup and snacks from its new winter menu, reminiscent of dishes from the Himalayas and across Nepal during the colder months.
Customers can enjoy hearty bowls of Jhol Momo, a traditional dish made with their signature chicken or vegetable momo dumplings, made fresh daily and served in a rich, spiced tomato-based broth infused with Nepali spices like cumin, turmeric, toasted peanuts and sesame seeds.
In addition, the Himāl Hatch will offer Sukkha Puri – a comforting snack of puffed puri cracker filled with chickpeas, roasted tomato and mint, inspired by the winter favourite in Nepal.
Guests can also sip on steaming hot chiya, a spiced Nepali milk tea made daily, or wines selected by Zeren Wilson of John Dory Wine, including a Bodegas Nodus ‘Chaval’ Bobal and a Friulano Friuli Colli Orientali Azienda Agricola.
