Fowl Mouths‘ Japanese comfort food residency at The King & Co is being extended throughout March to run daily until the end of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Having already built up a loyal fanbase through their sell-out supperclubs and popups across South London, Fowl Mouths has continued to impress with their first residency with Melissa Thompson’s signature dishes like twice-fried Kara-age Chicken with wasabi coleslaw; and her creations marrying Japanese flavours with classic British and American comfort foods, such as Ponzu Steak marinated in citrus-seasoned soy sauce and garlic.

There is a daily menu of snacks, mains and desserts ranging from crisp Panko-crusted Potato Korokke to molten Chocolate Sesame Balls;as well as specials including Teriyaki Chilli Wings and 8 hour braised miso short rib hirata buns.

Fowl Mouths’ weekend brunch offering is a twist on traditional breakfast favourites, featuring dishes like Pork Belly Benedict with poached eggs and yuzu hollandaise, and an Egg and “Bacon” Bun with Tonkatsu “brown” sauce for pairing with The King & Co’s bottomless brunch Bloody Marys, Cava and selected craft beers.

Fowl Mouths are committed to the provenance of their ingredients and to responsible sourcing. Their meat is all rare-breed and free-range supplied by The Butcher’s Block (an approved supplier for The Sustainable Restaurant Association) and they use British-grown wasabi from The Wasabi Company.

The King & Co is hosting a Japanese Food & Beer matching event on Tuesday 15th March, offering a 5 course Japanese tasting menu from Fowl Mouths and tutored beer tasting by House of Boda. Early bird tickets are available for £30 until 6th March (£35 thereafter) and can be booked here: bit.ly/24rnuPP
