There’s a brand new Spring menu at Islington Galley.
Galley opened in January and when we reviewed it we were rather impressed with the food.
Brother and sister team Head Chef Marcel Grzyb and Founder Oriona Robb have a new range of dishes for spring (yes it’s coming) which begins with the signature list of Galley oysters (all British) and a hot and cold seafood platter, ideal perhaps for an early alfresco lunch or dinner on the sunny terrace.
Small plates include a bouillabaisse of Sea Bream Carpaccio, chilli, lime and mint, there’s also Chargrilled Tiger Prawns, mango, paw paw, lime & chilli salsa and a dish of Marinated Watermelon, feta, watercress, pinenuts and Szechuan pepper.
Large dish highlights include Halibut, crispy skin, butter poached leaks, asparagus and wild garlic sauce, Lobster Linguine with cherry tomatoes, lemon and chilli, Pan Roasted Cornish Cod, wilted chard, spring onions, baby potatoes and chicken tarragon jus and for those who need a bit of meat there’s Spiced Lamb Rack, artichoke puree, sprouting broccoli, black-eyed beans with ragu shoulder and thyme.
Pudding at Galley includes white chocolate panna cotta with passion fruit, honeycomb and blackberries, Citrus Tart, pineapple and chilli salsa & mango sorbet, Chocolate and Orange Mousse, salted caramel and cappuccino ice cream or Chilled Ricotta Crumble, strawberry and dragon fruit.
