Gin Mare Partners with The Hoxton to Champion The Best Up and Coming Chefs

Gin Mare will be partnering with community-focused design hotel series The Hoxton to present Hot Plates, a kitchen takeover series dedicated to celebrating some of London’s most exciting up-and-coming gastronomic talent.

The three-week dinner series will be presented by The Hoxton, Southwark’s lobby restaurant Albie, playing host to a rotation of talented chefs cementing their place in the London food scene by taking to the pass throughout March and April.

Gin Mare will be providing a range of exclusive, gin-based cocktails to accompany the meals. To kick things off, Helen Graham, ex-Executive Chef at Bubala, will be taking the reins on Friday 21st March, cooking with rich Middle Eastern flavours and championing vegetarian ingredients to take guests on a vibrant culinary journey.

Her cocktail, The Spice Route, with Gin Mare, Coconut Cream, Peppercorn Marmalade and Soda, will be paired with a menu consisting of Whole roasted cauliflower, bkeila cream, matchstick black lime fries and Carrot, lemongrass & rosewater halva, pistachio & cashew.

Next up, on Friday 28th March, mother and daughter duo Priya and Sudha aka, Vegetarian Brown Girls, will be serving up dishes from the west Indian state of Gujarat. The pair host their intimate Gujarati supperclubs at home, and will be introducing any as yet uninitiated guests on the night to this enticing cuisine.

Their Ember and Herb cocktail comprising Gin Mare, Tamarind, Basil, Chili and Lime, will be served with dishes including a crispy DIY Pani Puri sharing starter, moreish Vegetable Samosas and nostalgic Parle G Barfi Sandwiches.

To round things off, Uncle Hon’s BBQ will be knocking up American BBQ dishes with a Chinese twist on Friday 4th April, bringing together succulent smoked meats and aromatic Cantonese flavours for the perfect comfort food. Their cocktail Ribs, Rake and Records, with Gin Mare, Campari, Soy Sauce Vermouth and Smoked Salt, will accompany their must-try menu items including Char Siu Iberico Pork Ribs, Pho Spice Ox Cheek and Xian Cumin Pulled Lamb Shoulder, all served with cucumber salad, rice & pickle.

Gin Mare is a great aperitivo drink to pair with fresh, simple and seasonal gastronomy. The distinct flavour notes of Gin Mare combine rosemary, basil, thyme and Arbequina olives for a savoury twist.

Tickets to any events in the Hot Plates dinner series can be purchased for £45pp via link here. Tickets include a classic Gin Mare and Tonic garnished with rosemary and an orange peel.
