To celebrate native oyster season, Guinness and seafood and oysters specialists, Wright Brothers, are collaborating to offer guests the ultimate Beer and Oyster Masterclass.
Led by Wright Brothers’ legendary oyster expert, Simon Lamont, and a Guinness beer expert from Guinness’ Open Gate Brewery in Dublin, four unique masterclasses will take place across this month.
Held at the Wright Brothers’ restaurant in Soho, each 90 minute class will give guests the chance to learn about the history of Guinness and oysters, whilst tasting sumptuous oysters and perfectly matched beers. Simon will also lead guests in an interactive oyster shucking session.
Since British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, claimed the perfect combination of oysters and stout was’the most remarkable day’ of his life in 1837, the two have been inextricably linked. Known as a great palate cleanser, the carbonation of Guinness helps lift the flavours off the tongue. The dry roasted, slightly bitter taste of the’Black Stuff’ really brings seafood, in particular oysters to life, making them the perfect pairing.
The Guinness and Oyster Masterclasses will be taking place on Saturdays throughout October (8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th) at Wright Brothers Soho (13 Kingly Street, W1) at a cost of £40 per person.
