On the 1st October, Gunpowder, the Michelin Bib Gourmand Indian restaurant from Harneet Baweja, will throw an end of summer party with friends from Lisbon and London including Caia, Berber & Q and Oficio from Lisbon, at Gunpowder’s Tower Bridge restaurant.
From noon until night, Harneet will invite guests to enjoy a four course menu alongside special wine pours from Berber & Q’s Mattia Bianchi.
To start, each restaurant will offer their take on freshly shucked oysters with an assortment of toppings which will make their way through the restaurant on Gunpowder’s bespoke oyster trolley.
To follow, Berber & Q’s Josh Katz will bring his signature hispi cabbage with ras el hanout oil, pomegranate mustard molasses, labneh & macadamia dukkah, and Oficio will create a delicate dish of skate wing with a herb butter sauce.
Moving to mains, chef and co-founder of Caia, Rishabh Vir, will serve up their much-loved Iberico jerk ribs which are cooked on the open fire grill, and Gunpowder will bring round plates of lamb chops with kashmiri ghee roast. To round off the meal Oficio will be serving slices of Bola De Bolacha, a traditional portuguese biscuit cake
No party would be complete without both music and wine, and to mark the occasion Caia’s co-founder, Tim Lang, will be spinning vinyl tunes on the decks, with a selection of soul and psychedelic funk.
Bringing through special wine pours will be Mattia Bianchi, co-founder and head of wine at Berber & Q who will ensure everyone is topped up with glasses of fizz.
Those looking to bolster their meal with Gunpowder favourites won’t be disappointed as a selection of signatures will also be available including spicy venison doughnut; Gunpowder Aloo Chaat; Seafood Moilee; pottalam banana leaf biryani.
Harneet Baweja says, “Let’s face it, this summer hasn’t exactly lived up to the sunny London we know and love and I want to see it out in true Gunpowder style with a big old bash. My friends are joining me from across the capital, as well as from Lisbon where we have made great friends from opening Gunpowder there. It’s going to be a fun day with food flowing, delicious wines and even better company”.
