Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal will be opening his hotly anticipated London restaurant on Saturday January 29th 2011 serving history inspired modern dishes. The restaurant, accessible from the lobby of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, will have private dining room for up to ten guests and will command views over Hyde Park.
The new restaurant will be headed up by Ashley Palmer-Watts, who has worked with Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck, Bray, for eleven years as Group Executive Chef.
Heston Blumenthal and Ashley Palmer-Watts have been working with food historians and the British Library to create the new menu. The result will be dishes inspired by recipes dating as far back as the 16th century including bergamot cured mackerel salad, slow cooked short rub of beef, scallops with cucumber ketchup and peas.
The restaurant will be serving lunch and dinner but with a three course set lunch at £25 and three course a la carte dinner from £55, you know the tables will be booked up months in advance.
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is now scheduled to open on Saturday January 29th. The Booking line on 020 7201 3833 will open on December 1st.
