Following the success of last year’s female guest chef series, J. Sheekey Atlantic Bar is delighted to announce the line-up for 2017.
During April, May and June, guests can experience the unique flavours and cooking styles of Anna Tobias, Rachel Roddy and Ching He Huang, who will each cook alongside Head Chef Andrew McLay for one night only. Each chef’s menu will be in keeping with J. Sheekey Atlantic Bar’s signature, family-style sharing plates. The ticketed dinner events are available to book now here.
Kicking off the series on 25th April is Anna Tobias, who was named in The Observer Food Monthly’s annual list of 50 trends, people, places and food to look out for in 2017. Having commenced her career working with esteemed chef Jeremy Lee at the Blueprint Cafe, Anna later worked at the Michelin-starred River Café for three years before being appointed Head Chef at Rochelle Canteen.
On 9th May, Rachel Roddy will take the reigns of the J. Sheekey Atlantic Bar kitchen. A British cook and writer who has spent a decade in Rome, Rachel’s menu will convey Italian influences reflected in her food column in The Guardian Cook, A Kitchen in Rome. Rachel loves to explore traditional Italian cooking and creates flavoursome dishes.
The final event will take place on 27th June with cookery author and television chef Ching He Huang. Born in Taiwan and raised in South Africa and the UK, Ching champions a dynamic approach to Chinese cooking. She combines traditional Chinese cookery methods taught by her grandparents, with contemporary innovation using organic and ethically sourced ingredients.
Each event will offer an insight into the minds and methods of three food experts with diners having the opportunity to hear each chef discuss her food philosophy as well as experiencing their distinct menu.
