This January, Michelin-starred Launceston Place will launch a new lunch-time tasting menu: the 404 menu.
Created by executive chef Tim Allen, the lunch menu features four courses, amuse bouche, pre-dessert and petit fours, offering a gastronomic journey through Tim’s creative style of seasonally-inspired British cooking.
Each course is served as a small plate, offering guests the chance to sample chef Allen’s creations.
The menu preludes with a pre-starter of Parmesan with onion and ceps, before beginning with a course of quail with cauliflower, morteau sausage and grapes.
A fish course of cod with crispy egg, greens and mustard is served before a main dish of partridge with sourdough puree, cured foie gras and smoked Cavennes onions.
After a tasting of Launceston Place’s savoury dishes, guests are indulged with a pre-dessert of orange with ginger and buttermilk before enjoying a serving of Grand Cru chocolate with pear and grue.
Petit fours are finally offered for a finishing taste of something sweet.
The 404 menu, priced at £40 per person includes all of the above plus still or sparkling water and tea or coffee to finish, offering a fine-dining experience at a very fine price.
This menu is available for lunch at Launceston Place, Tuesday to Sunday throughout January.
