Who doesn’t like a banger? As National Sausage Week draws to a tasty close, why not cap it off with a trip to Brockwell Lido, South London’s favourite swimming hole and where, on hot summer days, teenagers from all the schools in Dulwich descend for depth defying displays that completely violate common sense as well pool rules. Ah, to be young again.
In honour of National Sausage Week (4th to 10th November), the Lido Café has given the hotdog a fancy makeover.
Inspired the goodness of game, they have come up with the gamedog. Made from high quality venison and wild boar and ethically sourced from small British producers, this dog with a difference will go very nicely with left over fireworks in Brockwell Park or chilly evenings by the pool spent idly dreaming about summer. The savoury mix of gamey wild boar and rich venison is complimented by the addition of aromatic juniper sauerkraut, while home-made cranberry ketchup adds a sweet note. Served with the Lido Café’s triple cooked chips, this dish should satisfy any sausage lover. It will also be available to take away if you’re as game as the dog.
