‘And if the city never sleeps then that makes two’, an Ed Sheeran lyric that so happens to be plastered on a wall at The Hard Rock Cafe‘s new flagship restaurant in Piccadilly Circus.
A strange choice, I thought, as I plucked out a memory of being fascinated whilst staring into a glass cabinet at Hard Rock‘s Old Park Lane restaurant a few years back, which held Elton John’s 1986 Tour de Force suit.
But, thinking it through, there’s arguably no better lyric to adorn the walls of Hard Rock‘s newest flagship restaurant, situated in one of London’s most iconic, and busy, locations.
And, despite the inclusion of more modern and pop subtleties, The Hard Rock Cafe Piccadilly Circus is familiar.
Despite being significantly bigger than Hard Rock’s Old Park Lane restaurant, it still has booths, a stage ready for musicians to rock (last night it was British noughties band KEANE) and, of course, walls decorated with music memorabilia.
After all, each Hard Rock Cafe is renowned for its massive rock memorabilia collection and Piccadilly Circus is no exception.
Although a trip to Hard Rock is likely to leave a big impression on both you and your wallet (the Double Decker Double Cheeseburger costing £19.95), it’s important to remember that you’re not just paying for your meal, but also for your view.
Mine included Robbie Williams’ sequined jacket and Geri Halliwell’s, surprisingly massive, heels.
The new restaurant has opened only a short while after Hard Rock Cafe launched its brand-new menu, on Hard Rock Founders Day, back in June.
This means burger lovers, in addition to the glitz and glam of a new restaurant, will be able to take full advantage of new beginnings and indulge in new Instagram-worthy burgers including The Big Cheeseburger, a new take on The Original Legendary Burger and the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger.
The menu also sports the new Moving Mountains Burger, a 100% plant-based patty. Just be sure to ask for the cheese to be removed to make it a proper vegan burger, though.
Whilst an evening at Hard Rock can work out to be an expensive night out, the price isn’t just for your burger, but for the whole Hard Rock experience, something Hard Rock Piccadilly most certainly strives to offer.
