Every year the choice for vegans  gets bigger as more and more restaurants recognise that veganism is not just here to stay but a profitable market for them to pay attention to.

Veganism is  one of the largest growing lifestyle movements, with overwhelming research demonstrating  the health benefits of a plant based diet, as well as the environmental effects and impacts.

A recent surge of Netflix documentaries, such as The Game Changers provide for compelling viewing, with the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger amongst those who are championing the vegan diet.

M Victoria Street introduces a special Meatless Menu this January

mcith_M.jpgAvailable up until mid-February, this menu is perfect for those who are detoxing this January or those who are looking for some vegan, vegetarian and gluten free balance in their diet.

M Restaurant’s Culinary Director, Michael Reid, has designed a menu with a collection of small plates and bowls, perfect for sharing and grazing. Featuring Tartars, from sea and field, plus grain-based Poke Bowls and Ramen, the ultimate’feel good’ menu to kick off the new year. 

In addition to clean eating, M Restaurants are also supporting those partaking in Dry January by launching the perfect new alcohol-free beverage options.

M has partnered up with acclaimed wine writer, Matthew Jukes, to launch his’Cordiality’, offering non–alcoholic, natural drinks with fewer calories. Jukes’ Cordialities are designed for people who want to maintain their high standards of taste when they are not indulging in alcohol.

Visitors will simply mix Jukes Cordialities with still, sparkling or tonic water, to suit their own desired taste and help to feel guilt free this month.

The Camden pizzeria say they will  be bringing out veganism’s darker and more magical side with an entirely vegan pizza menu that will combine an’unholy trilogy of witchcraft, CBD magic and plant based toppings’.

The new menu will comprise customisable CBD infused vegan pizzas and small plates with a range of dedicated vegan dips, alongside CBD cocktail serves.

Super-natural tarot inspired pizzas will combine fresh toppings with a crisp, charcoal bases alongside fiery, fruity and flavourful dips.

Diners can enjoy a selection of small but mighty vegan plates such as buffalo cauliflower wings with vegan blue cheese dip, or chips with a smoky, Mezcal guacamole.

Vegan Gyros and Souvlaki at The Athenian

The vegan menu at The Athenian draws on Greece’s healthy eating traditions and abundant fresh produce from its stunning natural landscape to create authentic vegan and vegetarian street food specialities.

In the UK, Greek Food historically has been associated with little more than grilled meats and moussaka, but The Athenian has been challenging these misconceptions by adding an array of plant-based options to the menu.

The vegan gyros combine seitan marinated in herbs, lemon juice and olive oil served with vegan Athenian sauce and oregano flecked fries.

Other vegan treats include flourless brownie, tomato croquettes or courgette fritters generously drizzled with an array of plant-based sauces.

Vegan dishes Kaspars at The Savoy

The menus at Kaspar’s at The Savoy, created by the recently appointed Head Chef Joost Bijster, showcase contemporary seasonal dishes from land (and sea) that capture the vibrancy of the natural landscape.

With panoramic views of the River Thames, the stunning Kaspar’s at The Savoy offers diners a luxurious yet informal dining experience. This January, guests can experience the lively atmosphere of the Art Deco-inspired interior whilst enjoying a vegan-friendly a la carte menu. 

Refreshed almost monthly, the menu will feature vegan delights such as Cauliflower Steak with Broccoli Puree, Broad beans, Pickled potatoes and Grill Farm Vegetables with Romesco sauce, Fregola and Puff Amaranth.

Chef Dayashankar Sharma Brings Veganuary to Grand Trunk Road for 2020

Fresh from another year of wowing their dedicated clientele with a varied and always luxurious offering, Grand Trunk Road are adding a vegan twist to their menu for January 2020.

With a menu devised by Head Chef Dayashankar Sharma, from his own experiences travelling and collecting recipes along the legendary Grand Trunk Road trail, the restaurant has garnered awards, nods from Michelin and legions of satisfied customers since its arrival three years ago.

Known for pairing classic flavours with sumptuous new ideas, Chef Sharma’s new vegan dishes will include Lotus root & asparagus with red peppers, cooked with cumin, turmeric & dry ground mango, and Stem broccoli with crushed black pepper, roasted cumin & lime juice.

Chef Sharma says “What better time than Veganuary to introduce our new menu items? Grand Trunk Road has always offered a singular Indian food experience, and the new vegan dishes will be as vivid and delicious as everything else on our menu!”

Carluccio’s Introduces Veganzola For Veganuary

Following the success of its award-winning vegan croissant launch, Carluccio’s is introducing a tortellini pasta filled with’Veganzola’, a plant-based’Gorgonzola’, as part of its new Cucina Verde menu created especially for Veganuary.

Veganzola is a plant-based alternative to the Italian favourite and has the characteristic tangy flavour that makes the cheese so iconic. Discover the’cheese’ in Carluccio’s Tortellini di Veganzola, pasta parcels filled with the plant-based’Gorgonzola’ and spinach with semi-dried tomato pesto and walnuts in a rich spinach sauce.

 Available from 8th January, everyone can enjoy plant-based takes on authentic Italian cuisine – without sacrificing flavour.

Other dishes on the Veganuary menu include Gnocchi e Zucca, pan-fried gnocchi and butternut squash with spinach pesto, crispy sage and pesto; Panella di Ceci, Carluccio’s take on the popular Sicilian street food; crispy chickpea fritters.

The special Veganuary menu complements the regular full vegan range, which includes dishes such as the Veganesca Spaghetti, a vegan take on the traditional Puttanesca; and the Veganese, the popular plant-based version of the Chicken Milanese.

The Cucina Verde Specials are available nationwide from 8th January to 11th February.
