Officina 00 has just launched a brand new bottomless brunch, with unlimited pasta and drinks on Saturday and Sunday.
This review is all about fresh pasta and the restaurant that makes it of course. Officina 00 now a set of three restaurants with Covent Garden as the latest addition. Officina 00 is a result of the great friendship and collaboration of Elia Sebregondi and Enzo Mirto.
As the name suggests it specialises in pasta. Fresh hand made in the morning by chef and stored under a glass display for diners to admire and also to refer to. I haven’t tried Corzetti pasta so here our waiter pointed me at the right tray.

I have already commented on the seasonal menu of Officina 00 last year when I popped in to try their game and truffle menu at the Fitzrovia location. Today it’s Old Street, their first restaurant, where it all started in 2020.
Although located at the main street it’s a little quiet on a Sunday, with a few couples and a celebration taking place. I can see Fitzrovia followed the décor cues – industrial look with exposed ceiling and pipe work is here too.
The menu in question is bottomless brunch, but no eggs benedict today, it’s all about pasta. For £45 pounds it’s a starter, bottomless drink and bottomless pasta. We embrace the carbs today, first a plate of three sausage and fennel croquettes.
It’s done marvellously. Bursting with pork flavour and herbal fennel cream wrapped in a crisp coating.

My guest’s starter is a pasta dish, he decided to dive right into into without waiting till the second course. It’s Officina’s 00 signature panko lasagna, already highly praised in my earlier review here. Beautifully stripy with distinct mushroom dotted cream stacked between rich yolk lasagna sheets.
The perfectly defined layers are then encased into a crisp, golden panko crumb.
As you bite into it, the light crunch gives way to structured yet soft layers. It’s a unique twist on a classic.
For mains there is a choice of four pastas on the Bottomless Menu.
My favourite pasta is corzetti, with its distinctive disk shape – almost like a mini pancake. Incredibly rich and creamy in its sauce with fennel sausage again and wild mushrooms, the disks with their little ripples capture just the right amount of sauce.
The mushrooms are perfectly sautéed and fried parsley adds a lovely crisp to it. My guest despite being a lightweight when it comes to spice, probably about one chilli sign, makes a bold decision to order Killer Bucatini.
As per the name it’s spicy, I can actually feel it in my eyes while hovering over it with a phone to take a picture. It’s striking red nduja tomato sauce with contrasting white burrata on top.
Bucatini for those not sure, is a pasta, a bit like noodles but hollow inside. My guest insists that the spice is just right though, as the burrata cools off the heat nicely. But still lightweight spice fans should order with caution.
For a complete experience we have to try all the pastas on the menu of course while pairing it with bottomless drinks, mine is simple light prosecco.

With homemade Officina’s 00 Grapefruit Spritz under a name of 00 Spritz for my guest. Made with pink grapefruit, it’s a lighter and a little sweeter version of the classic Aperol Spritz, which is also included in the bottomless deal. Guests get an option to switch drinks here, which is great, beats getting bored of one drink.
To follow are two more pastas, a fresh spring like Caserece, it comes with mint, pistachio pesto, rusco pepper and yuzukoshi, a fermented chilli and yuzu paste. It’s perfect for warmer months, light and herbal.

The second is rich in egg, summery yellow, Spaghetti Maradonna. With a prominent sense of anchovies but it doesn’t actually have fish pieces, which is a bit confusing for the mind to comprehend while looking at it.
Personally, I’m not too sure about Spaghetti Maradonna, I would have preferred some visible pieces of fish but I can see the appeal especially for pescetarians.
It should be mentioned all the pastas are original size as on à la carte so it’s quite a challenge to go through 2 pasta plates but despite that we crave something sweet.
A light one though, affogato and lovely light orange zest tiramisu to share with my guest.
Officina 00 Bottomless Brunch offers a good concept, I can’t think of any other London establishment with bottomless freshly prepared pastas, a dream for pasta lovers.
But even if you are not too keen on 90 minutes of pasta feast consider it for à la carte. The starters, pasta shapes and sauces are divine and at very competitive prices.
