Marugame Udon celebrates Sakura in full bloom with special menu and exclusive Sakura interactive filter.

Till 13th May 2024, Marugame Udon is inviting noodle lovers across the UK to embrace the Japanese tradition of Hanami – the joyous feast under pink blooms – and the chance to win a trip to Japan to celebrate Cherry Blossom season!

While Londoners would need to travel nearly 10,000km to reach Cherry Blossom season in Japan, Marugame is giving one lucky winner a chance to visit the home of udon for themself.

To be in contention of winning, candidates can simply dine at a Marugame kitchen or use Marugame’s interactive Cherry Blossom social media filter between 26th March and 13th May.

Those vying to win the grand prize will need to be signed up to the Marugame Club and scan their club cards at the till to enter the competition. The more visits made, the greater the chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime trip! 

The guests can also access the exclusive interactive Sakura filter via the Marugame Udon Instagram and TikTok pages. 

And that’s not all, sharing a post to Instagram or TikTok using the Cherry Blossom filter will provide 10 x entries for the competition to win a trip to Japan.

Cherry Blossom season, also known as Sakura season, is in full bloom when Cherry Blossom trees flood the nation with their pale pink colour.

The season symbolises a period of renewal and a time for optimism, and fans of the phenomenon often engage in a tradition “Hanami”, the practice of enjoying the fleeting beauty, by watching the petals of the cherry blossom trees snowing from the branches when in bloom.

In Japan, friends and families flock to the parks to hold Hanami picnics, eat under cherry blossom trees, and enjoy Sakura-flavoured food and drink while taking in the blossoms.  

Diners can celebrate Cherry Blossom season at Marugame as the Udon kitchen is in bloom with Sakura, with virtual decorations and music specially curated for Hanami, using the AR filter.
