Battersea’s The Farmer’s Mistress, has announced its first Supper Club since relaunching in October.
The Farmer’s Mistress’ four course Cornish Supper Club on 20th November will be a celebration of autumnal flavours, boasting a menu filled with seasonal Cornish produce, from freshly picked apples and pears to Cornish crab.
The Farmer’s Mistress has a strong farm-to-table ethos, relying on ethically sourced British produce. Now solely owned by Chef Director, Chris Gay, the restaurant is focussing on a new direction that welcomes an array of new events and evening dining opportunities, whilst still staying true to its ethos and mission of making locally sourced food that feels indulgent yet wholesome.
Chris’s deep passion for food was ignited in Cornwall, where he began his career working in his father’s fish and chip shop. He feels thrilled to bring a taste of Cornwall to Battersea, and to introduce fans of the restaurant to exceptional Cornish flavour-pairings and seasonal ingredients.
|Seasonal dishes are to be enjoyed over four courses throughout the evening, and each course will be paired with a Cornish drink. Guests can expect a Pinot Noir made in Saint Austell to Cornish Mead, to velvety smooth cream liqueurs crafted using dairy from nearby farms.
A Crispy Cornish brie with pear chutney, spiced honey, and toasted walnuts starts the meal, followed by a Cornish brown crab salad, burnt cucumber, apple, herb mayo, and sorrel.
Venison haunch is served next, with pumpkin, heritage squash, collards and blackberry jus. A decadent cheesecake ends the meal, made with Cornish Fairings, Roddas clotted cream, and quince.
The Farmer’s Mistress invites friends and strangers alike all to join them on the 20th November to toast to the
gorgeous flavours found in Cornwall in Autumn, and to fully embrace Cornish countryside charm in the centre of the city. Tickets are priced at £55pp for four courses and four drink pairings.
