Something for the weekend: this Saturday 28th September and Sunday 29th September, West London gastropub and party venue Paradise by Way of Kensal Green will host it’s inaugural Harvest Festival, a weekend celebration dedicated to street food, country pursuits, music and entertainment.
Street Food Market Saturday, 2pm-8pm
A series of food trucks will be stationed in the church courtyard adjacent to Paradise on Kilburn Lane bringing one of the largest ever street food markets to the area. Among the food trucks making their way West will be Innocent Drinks, Motherclucker, Rainbofood, Dosa Deli, Mama’s Jerk Station, Good & Proper Tea, Pearl & Groove and Cheeky Italian. All pitch fees from the street food vendors will be donated to the gastropubs nominated charity Action Aid.
Culinary Courses
Kicking off the Saturday will be a series of culinary classes, to be held in the first floor private dining and music rooms. Spitalfields Farmers (Saturday, 12:30pm-1:30pm, £10 entry) will be hosting a gardening session on’Hungry Gap Vegetables’, which will cover home organic growing techniques with crops to take home. Meanwhile, meat aficionados Meat 16 (Saturday, 2pm-4pm, £35 entry) will host’Meat the Sausage’ which will include a history of the sausage, discussion on varieties and a lesson on how to make your own, which guests can take home.
Petting Farm Sunday, noon-3pm, free
On Sunday, the venue’s garden will host an urban petting zoo, offering children and families an opportunity to learn all about farmyard animals, with pigs, chickens and sheep. The venue will be decked out in bunting, turf and straw bales, so bring your camera if you want to take a cute snap.
Barn Dance Hootenanny Saturday & Sunday, 2pm-11pm, Free
All day music programming for the festival will see Famous Wolf Promotions host an all day celebration of folk music.
